Beatty Park, one of Steubenville's oldest public green spaces, has been a natural escape and community gathering place for more than 160 years. With its scenic trails, historic stonework, and woodland landscape, the park has long been a place for families to hike, picnic, and enjoy the outdoors. Generations of residents have made memories there from childhood adventures to community events making it a cherished part of Jefferson County's story.
Donations made through this page of the Jefferson County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society (JCCOGS) directly support Beatty Park's upkeep and maintenance, ensuring the trails remain safe, the grounds stay beautiful, and the park can continue to grow as a recreational resource. Current plans, with grants already applied for, include restoring a shelter house damaged by fire and improving facilities for public use.
For decades, JCCOGS has preserved and promoted Jefferson County's rich history, supporting genealogy research, safeguarding historical records, and fostering community pride. Your contribution not only helps protect Beatty Park but also supports JCCOGS' ongoing mission to keep our county's history and heritage alive for generations to come.
