Reform School Records
Boys’ and Girls’ Industrial Schools
In 1858, the State of Ohio opened a pioneering institution that would help transform the treatment of convicted minors nationwide. Today, records of these reform schools are at the Ohio History Collection, and its website offers a free index to them. Bob Hope spent some time in an Ohio Reform School: did your ancestor, too? (OGS News, Spring Issue 2016 pp 16-17-)

The following index covers girls’ from 1869-1943 and the boys’ from 1858-1944.
