Obituary

(Weekly Herald Star, Feb 10, 1905) Fred C. Morrow- Very sad news went out to relatives and friends of deceased and the family of Squire George W. Morrow, of Island Creek township, of the death of Fred C. Morrow on Sat at 4a.m. at the residence of Misses Porter, 214 North Fourth Street, this city. Mr. Morrow had been ill two weeks with typhoid fever… The deceased was 20 years of age on Dec 13, 1905. He was born in Island Creek at the Morrow homestead, near Center Chapel. He was the son of Squire W. Morrow and Mrs. Mattie Huston Morrow, the later deceased… and graduated from Steubenville High School in 1904. He at once entered the firm of the Steubenville Hardware Co and was a very active and valued member of the firm, taking to the business very readily. He was held in high esteem by the other members of the firm and those who employed him in the store held him in high esteem because of his integrity and close attention to business and industry in his duties… He was a member of the M.E. Church at Center Chapel. He is survived by his father, one brother, Vance R., and two sisters, Emma C. and Florence. The hand of death has fallen heavily on Squire Morrow as there have been five deaths in the family inside of six years.
