(A letter dated June 24, 1983 from Nancy Revenaugh Chamberlain) The stones she found and read were located in the old part of the cemetery and were in very poor condition. Her letter doesn’t indicate the date in which she did the actual tombstone extractions.

“Elizabeth and Christian were daughters of John Revenaugh, his wife, Catherine was listed in the 1850 census, age 92 years, born in Maryland. Five of John’s six children were married in Jefferson County. John and his brother signed up for the War of 1812 from Jefferson County. William LittleRevenaugh owned land in Jefferson County from 1819 to 1832. No stones were found with the name of Revenaugh and are not found in any tombstone inscription books in Jefferson County thus far.”
