Smithfield (first known as Carrtown)

  • First Store was on 4th & Main St. owned by Wm. Wood.
Sherman House is one of the oldest Hotels in the country built in 1805 by McGlover then deeded to Jesse Letten. It became a livery stable owned by Henry C. Wood in 1870.
