Higgens - Revenaugh - Little

     The tombstones found and read are located in the old part of the Warrenton Cemetery, Warren Township. They were all noted in poor condition in 1983.

Flat tablet: In memory of Elizabeth Higgens, who departed this life December 24, 1822, age 29 yrs 26 days

Left of Tablet: Monument black and very worn Christ--- Higgens

Right of Tablet: Catherine Higgens, d---, 1823, large square stone J.R. small footstone near J.R. w Catherine.

Elizabeth and Christian were daughters of John Revenaugh, his wife Catherine was listed in the 1850 census, age 92 years, born in Maryland. Five of John's six children were married in Jefferson County. John and his brother signed up for the War of 1812 from Jefferson County. William Little Revenaugh owned land in Jefferson County from 1819 to 1832. No tombstones were found with the name of Revenaugh and are not found in any tombstone inscription books in Jefferson County to date.
