Bickerstaff - Hukill & Allied Families

Obituary for Jesse Bickerstaff

(Herald Star, Sept 12, 1927)    Jesse Bickerstaff, who was born in Steubenville, 71 years ago on August 18, 1927, died at his home in Wintersville, on Sabbath at 4:45 p.m. The deceased was a son of Jacob and Charlotte Hukill Bickerstaff, both deceased.  He was a carpenter by trade and followed that occupation all his life. He had been in poor health for several years, but he was only bedfast one month, due to complicated ailments.  He was married to Emma Douglass of Wheeling, twenty-eight years ago, and his wife and two children survive, Jesse and Mrs. Carl Lotzgesselle.  Also, one brother, and two sisters survive, George Bickerstaff of Miller’s Station, O. Mrs. Mary Prosser and Mrs. John Sickler of this city. Mr. Bickerstaff was a citizen of known integrity and industry and he enjoyed the high respect of all those who knew him
